BACH IN THE CITY Vienna

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2, 7 p.m.
Depot, Breitegasse 3, 1070 Wien

Walter Klasz, Architect
Veronika Kotradyova, Fakultät für Architektur, TU Bratislava
Paul Woodruffe, Unitec Auckland, Neuseeland
Moderation: Thomas Stini, Architect

The discussion will be held in English language.

In NZ there is a tradition of owner-built houses that are made from found and or recycled materials. The word Bach has an association to a place free from the pressures of the domestic life. A Bach is defined by what it is not; it is not the everyday, but a sanctuary from the everyday. Citizens of Sandleiten will collect everyday material and we will realize a Viennese Bach. Cultural exchange will be encouraged through the placement of QR Codes and USB devices on the construction site. A local DJ would use the Bach to broadcast via www.play.fm for worldwide access.
